The book that changed the thinking about evolution was published 160 years ago. Charles Darwin published his most important book 'On the Origin of Species' on 24 November 1859. This day is sometimes called 'Evolution Day'. This is scientific literature considered to be the foundation of evolutionary biology. Darwin proposed that populations evolve over the course of generations through a process of natural selection. The book was written for non-specialist readers and attracted widespread interest upon its publication. In Darwin's lifetime itself, the book was translated into Danish, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Spanish and Swedish languages, Later the book was translated into eighteen more languages
